3. Where can I dispose of tires?

Presently, there are 2 locations in Hancock County.

• North Barn: 18382 Highway 43, Kiln, MS
• South Barn: 6284 Lower Bay Road, Bay St. Louis, MS

A homeowner is allowed to drop off a maximum of 25 tires per year.

4. Where can I dispose of my TV?

It is recommended to store hazardous waste until Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day if possible. The exact date of the Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is announced each year. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023.

5. Where can I dispose of old furniture?

Coastal Environmental Services will accept these items. Place items at the street curb on regular bulky waste pick-up days. View the Bulky Waste Pickup Schedule for more details.

6. Where can I dispose of old paint?

Old paint containers can be taken to King Landfill for disposal throughout the year. The paint containers can also be disposed of at the Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day each year.  The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023. 

7. Where can I dispose of old propane tanks?

Magnolia Gas accepts 5-gallon and 7.5-gallon propane tanks for recycling.

8. Where can I dispose of my old computer and other electronics?

9. Where can I dispose of my old refrigerator?

Coastal Environmental will pick up refrigerators.

For disposal of a refrigerator, you must first have the Freon removed by a certified technician. The unit must be tagged showing the certified removal of the freon gas.

Once removed, Coastal Environmental will accept these items. Place items at the street curb on regular bulky waste pick-up days.

10. Where can I dispose of engine oil?

Most auto parts stores will accept uncontaminated oil. These stores will not accept engine oil that is contaminated with water or other debris.

Engine oil can also be disposed of at the Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day each year. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023. 

11. Where can I dispose of batteries?

Most auto parts stores will accept different size batteries.

Batteries can also be disposed of at the Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day each year. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023. 

12. Where can I dispose of chemicals labeled poisonous?

Chemicals labeled poisonous can be disposed of at the Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023. 

13. What should I do if I am not sure whether an item is hazardous waste or not?

It is recommended to store these items until they can be recycled at the Hancock County Hazardous Waste Day. The next Hancock County Household Hazardous Waste Day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023.
